The Great Pet Day

At St Paul’s School Pet Day, all the children brought their pets to school to show them off.

The cats came first and they were in cages and the children put them in the hall. They were scared, nervous, quiet and small. Shakira brought her cat called Blacky and Blacky was moving like a snail and she was quiet. She was a frightened cat.
It was the Pet Day Parade. All the children got their pets and took them to the court.
The goat, the possum and the birds were my favourites because the goat’s tail was waggy, the possum is a nocturnal animal and the birds were yellow and blue.
l thought that it was fun because all the pets were funny and the Pet Day Parade was fun, especially Isabella’s goat, and I felt good about seeing the pets.

King Arthur's Castle

Mrs Death read us the story of King Arthur, then we used three different pieces of paper and combined them to show what his castle looked like.

The Wizard of Oz

Tomorrow, our school is doing a production called The Wizard of Oz. There is a group of children in the choir. They sing the songs of the production.
I am a scarecrow dancer and I dance with Alex. The scarecrow dancers have to dance like scarecrows. We have to kick our legs and nod our heads, and we have to raise our arms up to our shoulders and flop them about.
When we are on stage, I feel nervous and excited because I've never done a production in front of heaps of people for a long time.

Hi. My name is Sorenity and I am 9 years of age. What I like to do at school is to learn maths and spelling. In spelling, I like to learn all the words I don't know.

Kiwi Crew

During the Olympics, I watched Nathan Cohen and Joseph Sullivan try to get a gold medal.
The race was on and New Zealand was in 6th place at the start, then they got in front of one of the canoes.
As they got closer to the finish line, they passed another boat and they were in 4th place.
The rowers were starting to get nervous as they got closer. As they got closer to the next canoe, they started to move faster.
Nathan and Joseph got excited as they were near the finish line. They were nearly there, and suddenly, Hooray! Hooray! Hooray!
The won a Gold medal for New Zealand.
At the end of the race, Nathan Cohen and Joseph Sullivan were exhausted. They could barely stand up on their legs.
